About the Artist & Designer
Laura Sandoval designs and makes each piece individually
“The creation of weareable art is the philosophy of my work and my passion. Jewellery pieces that evoke a surprise and wonder. Pieces that tell a story, keep a secret and communicate with the user creating a connection”.
Laura was born in Mexico, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design at UAM Azcapotzalco, graduating with the Academic Valedictorian Award Medal. During her undergraduate studies, she served as a teaching assistant at her university, contributing to academic programming and pedagogical support.
She later participated at Pilchuck Glass School as a student, staff member, and assistant, where her work and engagement led to a nomination for the Corning Incorporated Award. Subsequently, she was awarded a scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree at the University of Sydney, Australia, specializing in Glass Art and Jewellery.
Her practice has received international recognition, including the Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society Young Arts Award, and she was selected as a finalist for the Stanislav Libenský Award.
Sandoval has taught specialized courses, and her work has been presented in art galleries and design exhibitions across Mexico, Argentina, The United States, Australia, Czech Republic, Italy and Spain.
